Overview
Montmartre feels more like a village than a capital, cobbled lanes, ivy-covered houses and timeless cafés perched on the highest hill in Paris. This self-guided walking tour links 15 stops over about 3.2 km, from the red sails of the Moulin Rouge to the white domes of the Sacré-Cœur. Along the way you pass Picasso's first Paris studio, the "I love you" wall, the man walking through the wall (Le Passe-Muraille), the last working vineyard inside the city, the Au Lapin Agile cabaret, Dalida's square and the Place du Tertre, before climbing to the basilica and its sweeping view over the whole city. Each stop comes with a written commentary and its own audio track, plus Google Maps links so you never lose your way on the hill's maze of stairs. You set the pace, read, listen, stop for a coffee, and pick the route back up whenever you like.
