Discover the darker side of the Square Mile on this special Halloween walking tour through the historic City of London. Starting near St Paul’s Cathedral, we’ll explore some of the stranger, darker and more unsettling stories hidden among the City’s streets, buildings and forgotten corners. Over nearly 2,000 years, the City has survived plague, fire, crime, punishment, war and more than a few unusual characters — leaving behind stories that are particularly suited to a walk around London at Halloween. Expect tales of death, disaster, superstition and some of the more macabre moments from the City’s past, along with the unusual objects and easily missed details that help bring those stories to life. This is a historical walking tour rather than a ghost hunt — although that doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be a ghost story or two along the way. The tour is led by Alex, a qualified City of London Green Badge Guide.
