Overview
Discover Kyoto beyond guidebooks on this interactive walking tour from Ginkaku-ji to Nanzen-ji. Led by a former history teacher, this experience combines history, culture, philosophy, and Zen through stories, discussions, and quizzes. Rather than simply listening to a guide, you'll be encouraged to ask questions and share your thoughts along the way. Walk the famous Philosopher’s Path, visit a local shrine, and explore Nanzen-ji while gaining a deeper understanding of Japan. The tour also includes a simple Zen mindfulness experience, offering a chance to slow down and reflect in one of Kyoto’s most peaceful settings. Ideal for travelers who enjoy learning and conversation. Please note: This tour does not enter Ginkaku-ji Temple. Guests who wish to visit the temple are encouraged to do so before the tour. Your guide will explain its history and significance from outside the temple. This tour includes approximately 2.5 km (1.5 miles) of walking at a relaxed pace.
