Overview
Trained in visual art and cultural mediation, I am delighted to share the pleasure of Matisse's luminous works. For this exhibition, the Grand Palais and the Centre Pompidou Collections chose to present a wide variety of works designed at the end of his career. At that time, he eliminated from his practice anything that might hinder him. Knowing your personal journey better and understanding your approach through these works will help you appreciate what can be confusing at first. From a sensitive observation of paintings, drawings, cut-out gouaches, but also of printed works, on paper or on fabric and stained glass, one can become aware of the freedom he showed until the end of his life.
