Step into Shinsekai, one of Osaka’s most vibrant yet underrated neighborhoods, where retro charm, gritty alleyways, and deep cultural roots blend into a unique urban experience. On this walking food tour, we’ll dive into local flavors and explore the untold stories of a city known as “Japan’s Kitchen.” Your guide will take you off the beaten path—no tourist traps here. Instead, we’ll visit long-loved eateries frequented by Osakans: from crispy kushikatsu skewers and handmade gyoza to melt-in-your-mouth local sushi and old-school izakayas with decades of history. You’ll discover how Osaka’s food culture reflects its working-class spirit and the post-war story that shaped Shinsekai. What to Know: Food and drinks are not included in the tour fee. Please bring ¥3,000–¥4,000 in cash to enjoy food and drinks at multiple stops.
