Explore beyond central Kyoto on a private journey combining Mount Hiei’s Buddhist heritage with the scenic shores of Lake Biwa. Visit Enryakuji Temple, enjoy weather-dependent lake views, see the floating Ukimido hall at Mangetsuji Temple, stop along the Omi-Maiko lakeshore, and visit Shirahige Shrine with its iconic torii gate in the water. Private transportation makes it easier to reach these less-central locations without multiple train or bus transfers.
