About the Instructor: First degree instructor Mika Soka Haneishi is the owner Shizu-Kokoro, an internationally acclaimed chado school licensed from Urasenke Chado School in Kyoto. “This is not tourism— but rather an immersion in culture.” Mark Edward Harris, Better Magazine. About Chado: Chado, a tea ceremony that has roots in Zen, was established in Japan more than 400 years ago. A tea room is a space in which people experience mindfulness, and the tea making process provides spiritual discipline and a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
