Overview
Discover a lesser-known side of Rome with this private experience exploring places that reflect the city’s history of faith, martyrdom, and remembrance. Your tour begins with pickup directly from your hotel, where you will meet your private tour leader and travel through Rome by golf cart. The first stop is the Basilica of Santo Stefano Rotondo on the Caelian Hill, famous for its striking 16th-century frescoes depicting the martyrdom of early Christian saints. You will then continue to the Catacombs of Domitilla, one of the largest underground burial complexes in Rome, where you will join the official one-hour guided tour through ancient galleries carved into volcanic rock.
